Father Dave has kept the local
US paper's report of his ordination as a deacon. The article
reads:
Three Augustinian
Priests Ordained at St. Denis Church
Three Augustinians, one from
Clifton Heights and one formerly from th Drexel Hill area, were ordained
to the sacred priesthood in St. Denis Chapel, Havertown, Saturday
morning.
The most Reverend Gerald
McDevitt, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia ordained
the Rev. Joseph H. Reynolds, O.S.A., of Clifton Heights, the Rev.
Francis X. Riley, O.S.A., of Somers Point, N.J. and formerly of Drexel
Hill, Havertown and Upper Darby, and the Rev. David M. Austin, O.S.A. of
Queensland, Australia.
All three newly ordained
priests said their first masses Sunday and all thee will return to
Augustinian College, Washington, D.C. to resume graduate studies this

Father Reynolds, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank M. Reynolds of Church Street, Clifton Heights, is a graduate
of Holy Cross School, Springfield, Monsignor Bonner High School and
Villanova University. He also took theology courses at Catholic
University.
Father celebrated his first
mass Sunday afternoon at St. Eugene's Church, Primos, followed by a
reception in the church hall and benediction and blessing in the church
Sunday evening.
Father Riley, sin of Mr. and
Mrs. Leo J. Riley, grew up in Eastern Delaware County and attended St.
Bernadette, St. Lawrence and Annunciation schools, graduated from
Monsignor Bonner High School and Villanova University.
Following introductory theology
studies in Rome, Father Riley continued studies at the Augustinian
College in Washington. Prior to entering the Augustinian order, he
was employed by TV Guide, Radnor.
Father celebrated his first
mass Sunday afternoon at Annunciation Church, Brookline, with a
reception following at the Bala Golf Club.
Father Austin is the son of
Arthur J. and the late Jean Ida Austin of Queensland, Australia.
He attended elementary and secondary schools in Australia and received
his undergraduate degree from Villanova University. He is taking
graduate work at the Augustinian College, Washington.
Father's first mass was a
concelebrated Folk Mass in Coor Hall chapel at Villanova Sunday
afternoon followed by a reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Boyle, Drexel Hill.
