Sacramental Program​

After Baptism, your child will continue through the Sacraments on their way to understanding and living the Catholic faith. After Baptism, your child will be Confirmed (usually around 8yrs of age). After Confirmation, your child will receive First Holy Communion (usually around 9yrs of age). And finally, your child will have receive Reconciliation / Penance (usually around 10yrs of age). This process has been agreed upon by the Archdiocese of Brisbane (see their policy below).  Contact the parish [email protected]

Sacrament of First Holy Communion 2025
Year 4 Sacrament of First Holy Communion Program for Children at St James Parish.
​Your children (9yrs or older) have already had their Confirmation.
Monday April 28 – we invite you to the parent info session in the church (or hall) at 6pm.
Sunday May 4 – Rite of Enrolment within Mass at the church 9am.
​Monday May 12 – children Session One at home 6pm.
Monday May 19 – children Session Two in the church 6pm.
Monday May 26 - children Session Three at home 6pm.
Monday June 2 – children Session Four in the church 6pm.
Monday June 9 – children Session Five at home 6pm.
Monday June 16 – children Session Six + Rehearsal in the church 6pm.
Sunday June 22 – Mass with First Holy Communion in the church 11AM, followed by Morning Tea (parents to bring a plate to share).
